Try Transit Month is part of an ongoing initiative to educate Greenville County residents about the economic and environmental benefits of public transit and encourage citizens who don't typically use public transportation to ride Greenlink.

The events and promotions listed below are designed to make participating in Try Transit Month educational, convenient and fun!  

All Month Long - Greenlink Public Meetings
Greenlink will host a series of 16 public meetings to provide citizens with an opportunity to learn about upcoming bus route changes and voice their opinion. Click here for a calendar listing of all the meetings.

October 11 - Upstate Transportation Coalition Meeting
9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Greenville Tech Buck Mickel Center - Room 188 (216 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville SC 29607)

Jennifer Snow, Director of Accountable Communities for Greenville Health System (GHS), will explain GHS’ three tiered approach to population health, the socioeconomic factors that impact health, the role of transportation in healthcare and an analysis of the internal audit done to determine the cost of transportation to the system.

October 12 - Story Time with a Bus Driver
10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Augusta Road Library (100 Lydia Street, Greenville SC 29605)

Join us for bus-related stories read by a Greenlink bus driver! Ages 5 & under. Call 864-277-0161 for more information.

October 14 - Fall for Greenville
8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Don't want to hassle with parking during Fall for Greenville? Ride Greenlink instead! A round trip will cost no more than $4.00.

October 18 - Connecting Our Future Kick Off Event
9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
TD Convention Center (1 Exposition Drive, Greenville SC 29607)

Connecting Our Future is a year long effort designed to create a regional vision for improving mobility and connectivity in the 10-county Upstate of South Carolina.
Connecting Our Future is led by a coalition of Upstate stakeholders representing education, transit systems, local governments, economic development organizations, healthcare providers, conservation groups and businesses.
October 20 - Transit Trivia
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Do you have a knack for obscure facts and figures? Think you know a lot about public transit in Greenville? Come test your knowledge as Greenlink hosts one of the categories in Joe's Place monthly trivia game!

October 21 - Story Time with a Bus Driver
10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
M. Judson Booksellers (130 S. Main Street, Greenville SC 29601)

M. Judson’s weekly children's event, Story Time!, will feature a real Greenlink bus driver who will set up shop in the Kid's Nook to read stories of adventure, mayhem and joy.

October 26 - GTA Board of Directors Meeting
12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Greenlink Offices (100 W. McBee Avenue, Greenville SC 29601)

Voice your support for public transit to the GTA Board of Directors.

October 27 - Fare Free Friday sponsored by Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union
5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
