Public engagement is critical during the planning process and there will be many opportunities for community participation, featuring citywide and west side planning components.

In Fall of 2012 we will be convening the first focus group meetings. The focus groups will consist of local citizens who will meet to discuss the 5 topics listed below. The focus groups will be one more way to get involved with the Connections for Sustainability planning project.

Applying for a HUD grant? Don’t miss the chance to get your Preferred Sustainability Status (PSS) Community bonus points! The City of Greenville has been recognized as a Preferred Sustainability Status (PSS) Community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for submitting a successful grant application for the 2010 Community Challenge Planning Grant competition. Grant applications submitted to select HUD programs in Fiscal Year 2011 (July 2011 – June 2012) may be eligible for two (2) bonus points.
