Police Ask for Tips on Roger Taylor Murder

Greenville Police investigators are seeking tips about a murder that happened on October 27, 2019. Police were called to 207 Shaw Street around 6 p.m. and found 55-year-old Roger Taylor Belton deceased. Belton had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and it was estimated that he had been dead for approximately 14 hours before being discovered by police.

At the time, 207 Shaw St. was under renovation and was not being occupied by residents. Detectives have spoken to several individuals since Belton’s death; however, none of the information they have received has led to an arrest.

Belton, who was homeless and used a walker, was known to other individuals in the community as “Pops” and “Old Timer.”
