October is Try Transit Month

Try Transit Month is well under way! As part of the celebration, this month features a full schedule of events designed to raise awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of public transit and to encourage residents to leave their vehicles at home and use Greenlink. Events are designed to appeal to a wide cross-section of citizens and range from children’s story time to a community presentation by a nationally known transit expert to a workshop designed to teach employers how to promote local transportation options to their employees. Participate with Planning Efforts

Planning for transportation options, especially as our community grows, is going to continue to rise as a priority in the Greenville County area. And currently, the Greenville Pickens Area Transportation Study (GPATS) is planning for transportation projects to be completed in the next 25 years in their Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). There are multiple ways to provide input and ask for public transit representation.

Allen Tate bus wraps

A New Face for Greenlink Buses

You may have noticed that some of Greenlink’s buses have looked different over the past few months. Greenlink is piloting a full-wrap advertising program, so if you see an Allen Tate bus out on the road, you’ll know it’s a Greenlink bus!

Greenlink Assisted with Charleston Evacuation Efforts

You may have heard about Greenville County Schools sending buses to Charleston to assist with hurricane evacuations, but what you may not know is that Greenlink also sent buses and a mechanic to lend a helping hand. Greenlink is committed to serving the public transportation needs of the Greenville area and wanted to extend that commitment to the Lowcountry by helping transport residents to safety and also by providing those who evacuated to Greenville without a personal vehicle the means to get around as they awaited a safe return to their homes.
